CVS Semi Annual Beauty Clearance Sale!

A few days ago marked the start of CVS's semi annual beauty clearance sale and since I picked up some things I thought I'd share what I found with you guys! But first let me give you some background on the sale. The sale started November 14th and has no official end date that I am aware of. Nearly every cosmetic brand, if not all of them has at least a few items on sale, so you're sure to find something you'll like. The sales range from 50% off to 75% off. Most items are marked with little pink or green stickers letting you know what's on sale, however people have reported a lot of sale items being unmarked as well at their locations. If you feel like something may be on sale but your not sure I'd suggest scanning it for the price. I also HIGHLY recommend checking out the super amazing Noveau Cheap, who has so kindly made a very detailed post all about the sale and also a complete list of all the spotted sale items! While I was shopping I made sure to go through the list myself. Also if you use Instagram searching up "#cvsbeautyclearance"  is a great way to see some of the deals people scored. Now I hate to be the bearer of bad news guys but unfortunately I must note that not all CVS locations are taking part in the sale, so I'd suggest giving your nearest CVS a call and asking them if they are having the sale or not before making the trip. Also if your CVS isn't taking part in the sale I'd suggest also checking Walgreens, Rite Aid, Walmart, Target etc.before giving up because any place that sells drugstore makeup could be having sales as well!

So obviously my local CVS was taking part in the sale, however it wasn't as great as some of the other sales appeared to be. For example I had seen loads of people on Instagram posting pictures of their dirt cheap Physician Formula finds, so I went with my heart set on picking up a few things from PF. Bad news is when I got there I found out that not a single thing from PF was on sale, needless to say I was disappointed. On the brightside I did find a lot of things I was happy with.

Let's go!

I was excited to see that NYX had quite a few items on sale so of course I rushed to the NYX section first. That's where I found these two lovely lipsticks. These are the extra creamy round lipsticks in the shades "Harmonica" and "Narcissus". "Harmonica" is a frosty, light pink and "Narcissus" is a bright, blue toned pink.

Retail price: $4
Sale price: $2

Lastly in the lip department I found this little baby. I've purchased one of Burt's Bee's 100% natural lip glosses before, and I absolutely loved it so I was very happy to find out that this was on sale! I purchased the shade "Ruby Moon" which is a very pretty berry-red hued color with a bit of pearlized shine. It's a lovely color for Fall, and honestly at the price I got it at it was a steal.

Retail Price: $9
Sale Price: $2.24

Here are swatches of the all three lip products I picked up!

Yay more NYX! I decided to go crazy and pick up some things that might not be my usual choice had they not been on sale. First I picked up one of the Jumbo eye pencils in the color "Pure Gold" which is a metallic gold color, but I'm sure you guys could have guessed that. These jumbo eye crayons are very cool because they have multiple uses and can be used as either eyeliner or eyeshadow. I also picked up NYX's Roll On Shimmer which is another multipurpose item. NYX suggests it can be used on your face, eyes, or body but most likely I'll just use it as an eye shadow for special occasions. I picked this up in the shade "nude" which yes, is in fact a nude color.

Jumbo Eye Pencil Retail Price: $4.60
Jumbo Eye Pencil Retail Price: $2.30

Roll On Shimmer Retail Price: $4
Roll on Shimmer Sale Price: $2

And of course I could not shop this entire sale without looking at any of the nail polishes. There were many nail items on sale at really amazing prices, and I mean AMAZING. That being said I am very proud of myself for managing to walk out with only two bottles of polish. I was able to justify the topcoat because I really did need a new one, and after all it was 75% off! The topcoat is Sally Hansen Diamond Strength nail lacquer in "Flawless". The lovely blue polish on the right is "Saved by the Blue" from Wet N' Wild's fast dry collection.

Topcoat Retail Price: $5.50
Topcoat Sale Price: $1.37

WNW Retail Price: $2.00
WNW Sale Price: $0.99

Well that's it guys I hoped you enjoyed this post! Let me know if you decide to check out the sale! Also I know I just briefly went over everything that I picked up but if you would like a more detailed review on any certain product I'd be more than happy to do that!

Leave me a comment, I love reading them. As always thanks for reading!

November Wishlist

November Wishlist

Hi guys, how's everyone's Monday going? I hope it's going well! So it's that time  of the month again (that doesn't sound right?)...wishlist time!!! Now I haven't done one since July I believe, so I may be a little rusty. I'm hoping now that I'm not planning on going on any hiatus' any time soon that I will be able to keep up on my wishlist posts as well as all my posts in general because I really love making these.

This month's wishlist is a nice mix of clothing and beauty with a few random bits here and there. I'm loving Forever 21's holiday line right now. Everything is so glitzy and sparkly!/ I'm also really excited because I basically discovered a cheaper dupe for Limecrime lipsticks, and that is Dragonberry! It's an Australian company so fellow Americans you may not be quite familiar with the brand, but lucky for me I follow lots of Australian beauty gurus on Instagram, so I stay in the know, ya know? Anyways they have an amazing range of colors from the crazy to the more ordinary and they all retail for just over $9./ I've heard so much hype about the Snow Fairy body wash from Lush and I would love tor try it this year. /Speaking of scents, I've recieved a couple of those tiny samples of Jo Malone's new fragrance "Wood, Sage, & Seasalt" in my magazines and oh my I just can't get enough. Instead of just sitting there and rubbing the sample on my wrist like a normal person I'm literally rubbing my face in the magazine, it's so amazing lol. / If you're a girl on a budget like me you'll be happy to know that Maybelline's come out with a neutral eye shadow palette similar to Urban Decay's Naked, Naked 2, and... can anyone take a guess? If you said Naked 3 you are correct! / Lena Dunham wrote another book, enough said. /I don't know if I've ever told you guys but I am obsessed with Disney. If it was possible I'd probably have my room decked out in all things Disney, wear only Disney related clothing, and buy only Disney products. Did I mention that I'm 21? So of course I had to add the Disney postcard set I found on Modcloth. It features stillframes and rough sketches of movies from Disney's Golden age, around 1930's to 1960's which is probably the timeframe most of my favorite Disney movies were made anyways! / Lastly I just had to add Mac's new Viva Glam collection featuring Miley Cyrus.Even though this collection isn't coming out till early next year I had to add it now because I think the colors are so pretty and c'mon, it's MILEY. I'm sure most of you already this know this, but in case you don't let me fill you in, all of the proceeds from every Viva Glam lipstick sale goes toward helping women, men and children living with and affected by HIV/AIDS. That's great because if you're like me and have a very hard time justifying buying something like a MAC lipstick for example, now you can feel good knowing you're not just buying a super pretty lipstick, you're also helping a worthy cause!

What did you think of my wishlist? What's on your November wishlist?

Hello November, I've missed you terribly.

Hey guys! So  I don't  know if you've noticed but it's only been about three days since Halloween and stores everywhere are already on to the next Holiday, well actually the one after that, Christmas. What Dora and I are wondering is what happened to Thanksgiving? No one wants to buy Turkey shaped decor? Bath and Body Works, where are the mashed potatoes and gravy scented candles (I would buy that.)?  I just feel like it's too early to be picking out snowman and Santa Claus embellished coffee mugs when a few days ago we were picking up coffee mugs embellished with witches and ghosts. I'm no scrooge though, I'm sure in about three weeks I'll be obsessed with all that too, because like 99.9% of the world's population, I actually do lovvvee Christmas. I just don't quite feel in the Christmas-y mood yet, that's all.

So I love how I've been introducing these outfit posts with little ramblings that have nothing at all to do with the outfits. I think I'll be doing that from now on if you guys don't mind haha. Anyways, let me get back on track, these outfits consist of the items I received from my second Le Tote box, which is also going to be my last. I'm not canceling my subscription because I didn't like the service, not at all, for the most part I think it's wonderful. I'm canceling it because it's just not in my minuscule budget right now, however I would like to try it again whenever the minuscule budget grows.

Here we go!

Sweater: Le Tote
Jeans: Target
Necklace: Le Tote
Beanie: Bought it a while back, don't remember sorry!

First and foremost please excuse the frizzy, poofy mess that is my hair. At the last minute I decided to put it down because I felt it better suited these pictures than my usual bun or pony tail. Bad news is it looked like a hot mess, so I'm so very sorry to anyone's eyes that I may have offended.  Anyways, the outfit. The sweater is really basic, a black and white striped crew neck. I actually already own a very similar sweater but I don't mind. I love monochromatic clothes, especially black and white stripes as luck would have it, and I really liked that this top was super casual, so I could wear it for basically anything. The necklace reminded me a lot of the bracelet I received in my first box which as you all may remember I fell in love with, so of course I was happy with it. The only thing I found weird about the necklace is the sea shells at the beginning of the necklace, I thought they were out of place with the design, and I think it's odd that they included them, but nevertheless I liked it.

Top: Le Tote
Jeans: Target
Shoes: Walmart
Earrings: Le Tote

I have mixed feelings about this top. I'm in love with the color of it, and I like the boxy fit however I just don't like how it looks on me. I felt like the shoulders were too big and even though I sort of like the boxy fit, I don't think it's right for me. When it comes down to it, I'd give this top a nay.  On the other hand the earrings are fabulous. I  really like that they aren't too big or heavy. Since my ears are on the smaller side a lot of earrings tend to weigh them down, however these didn't weigh them at all. P.S. this outfit felt a bit too serious, so I threw in a silly picture at the end for your amusement. P.S.S Zooey made an appearance!

Flannel: Wet Seal
Top: Le Tote
Leggings: Target
Boots: local clothing store

Dora decided to model the last top for me, which I have just realized we actually didn't get a great picture of because her flannel's covering it up. Just take my word for it guys, it's basically just a simple black sleeveless top. Of course you can also click the link above, if you'd like to see it for yourself.

Hope you enjoyed watching us yet again, take a trip to amateur model land. I've already done more than a few of these ootd type posts and I'm still unsure of how I should pose and if I should be looking at the camera, and ugh it's hard, it's hard. I suppose that's a first world problem though. Have a great week guys!

What did you think of this week's outfits? Have you tried Le Tote yet?
