Hello November, I've missed you terribly.

Hey guys! So  I don't  know if you've noticed but it's only been about three days since Halloween and stores everywhere are already on to the next Holiday, well actually the one after that, Christmas. What Dora and I are wondering is what happened to Thanksgiving? No one wants to buy Turkey shaped decor? Bath and Body Works,where are the mashed potatoes and gravy scented candles (I would buy that.)?  I just feel like it's too early to be picking out snowman and Santa Claus embellished coffee mugs when a few days ago we were picking up coffee mugs embellished with witches and ghosts. I'm no scrooge though, I'm sure in about three weeks I'll be obsessed with all that too, because like 99.9% of the world's population, I actually do lovvvee Christmas. I just don't quite feel in the Christmas-y mood yet, that's all.

So I love how I've been introducing these outfit posts with little ramblings that have nothing at all to do with the outfits. I think I'll be doing that from now on if you guys don't mind haha. Anyways, let me get back on track, these outfits consist of the items I received from my second Le Tote box, which is also going to be my last. I'm not canceling my subscription because I didn't like the service, not at all, for the most part I think it's wonderful. I'm canceling it because it's just not in my minuscule budget right now, however I would like to try it again whenever the minuscule budget grows.

First and foremost please excuse the frizzy, poofy mess that is my hair. At the last minute I decided to put it down because I felt it better suited these pictures than my usual bun or pony tail. Bad news is it looked like a hot mess, so I'm so very sorry to anyone's eyes that I may have offended.  Anyways, the outfit. The sweater is really basic, a black and white striped crew neck. I actually already own a very similar sweater but I don't mind. I love monochromatic clothes, especially black and white stripes as luck would have it, and I really liked that this top was super casual, so I could wear it for basically anything. The necklace reminded me a lot of the bracelet I received in my first box which as you all may remember I fell in love with, so of course I was happy with it. The only thing I found weird about the necklace is the sea shells at the beginning of the necklace, I thought they were out of place with the design, and I think it's odd that they included them, but nevertheless I liked it.

I have mixed feelings about this top. I'm in love with the color of it, and I like the boxy fit however I just don't like how it looks on me. I felt like the shoulders were too big and even though I sort of like the boxy fit, I don't think it's right for me. When it comes down to it, I'd give this top a nay.  On the other hand the earrings are fabulous. I  really like that they aren't too big or heavy. Since my ears are on the smaller side a lot of earrings tend to weigh them down, however these didn't weigh them at all. P.S. this outfit felt a bit too serious, so I threw in a silly picture at the end for your amusement. P.S.S Zooey made an appearance!

Dora decided to model the last top for me, which I have just realized we actually didn't get a great picture of because her flannel's covering it up. I've already done more than a few of these ootd type posts and I'm still unsure of how I should pose and if I should be looking at the camera, and ugh it's hard, it's hard. F. Scott Fitzgerald, you genius.

There's this quote by F. Scott Fitzgerald that goes "Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall." It's from one of my favorite novels, The Great Gatsby.  Indeed he was right. The awakening is undeniable. It's almost as if the moment the leaves start changing colors you get this completely natural boost of energy and enthusiasm as well. A new found hope that everything you've ever dreamt is possible ( okay I may be being a bit dramatic, but it's my blog after all, if I can't be dramatic here, where can I be?). At least that's how I feel. I tend to feel more creative and inspired in the fall/winter months and I have no idea why. I mean sure there are plenty of things that I love about Fall, but to say a pumpkin spice latte inspires my creativity, would certainly be a stretch. No, I just think it's the change in atmosphere.Anyone else feel this way?

The day we took these photos it finally cooled down a little. I believe it was in the 70's that day, a nice change for us Californians. Although definitely, not as cool as I'd like it to be. Anyways it was a little overcast, so I asked Dora if she wanted to do an ootd shoot with me. Seeing as how she shares an affinity for overcast weather as well, she agreed.

Honestly, I was a bit weary about what my first package would be like. For all I knew, the people at Le Tote could have just thrown whatever they like in the boxes and shipped them off. Happily, for me, this was not the case. I feel like the stylists at Le Tote really paid attention to my personal sense of style and sent me items related to ones I had added to "my closet". In fact, every single item I received were items already in my closet. My two favorite pieces I received were probably the flannel shirt and bracelet in the photos above. I think this flannel is perfect for Fall, as well as cute and very comfortable. And the bracelet....I fell in love with it. It's just so freakin' cute! The day I sent these two items back was a very sad day indeed lol.

I'm a sucker for a good ol' baseball tee, this top is basically that just a little fancier, like a baseball blouse if that makes sense. That being said, I like the versatility in the items Le Tote sends. I feel like this top could have easily been dressed up or down and if I hadn't been so lazy that day, I actually would have put more thought into this second outfit. I didn't  even bother to change my pants or boots lol. I also really liked the necklace. Dainty jewelry is my favorite, so this necklace was definitely spot on with my style.

Last but certainly not least Dora's outfit!  So this sweater dress was meant for me to wear as were all the items, however after trying it on, I knew the fit wasn't me at all.  I don't blame Le Tote for this though, after all I was the one who added it to my closet. It's just I'm a much bigger fan of A-line style dresses, and not these dresses that go straight down and hug every curve of your body. Not to say I hate all of these, this one was just a bit too tight for my taste. So here comes Dora to the rescue ha. It was definitely a bit (very) big on her, so she belted it, and voila it looked like it was made for her!  P.S. On the plus side, this dress was probably one of the most comfortable dresses I've ever worn, err tried on.

I'm so fancy

Hey guys, happy Sunday! So no, contrary to the title of this post we don't think we're sooo fancy. Just too lazy to come up with our own title. So yeah we may have stole some lyrics from a song that's been stuck in our heads for weeks now! Can anyone else relate? Anyways enjoy this week's ootd featuring Dora solo. Let's Sail Away

I hope everyone is having a great Sunday and Happy Father's day! I think father's day and mother's day are such lovely holidays because honestly I (and many others) don't take nearly enough time to thank my parents for all that they've done for me. And they certainly do a lot. So let's all make sure to take a moment to tell them how much they mean to us, even if it's only a quick phone call, I'm sure anything is appreciated. Now if only there were a daughter's day!

Girl can't keep a schedule.

Hi guys. So I don't even know if anyone's really noticed or not but lately I've been trying to incorporate a little more structure in the blog. It started with manicure Mondays, then weekly jams every Friday and ootd posts on Sundays. For about two weeks it was going all goodd but every procrastinator has their day. This week's been mine. So what this means is no manicure monday this week, and also a really late and lazy ootd type post. I meant to do it proper and do a whole little photo shoot for the ootd post but never got around to it.Not to make any excuses for myself but it was also soooo hot outside, we didn't even want to leave our air conditioned house, except for to have a water balloon fight! So here's a couple of typical selfie, in front of the mirror, type ootd photos. Enjoy (or not).

Feels like Summer

Hey everyone hope it's been a good Sunday for you all! It's most definitely been a good day for me. One thing I can't get over though is this heat! I live in Central California quite possibly the hottest place to live in California. Or maybe even the world? It's like once spring begins here it's the start of Summer instead. So basically we have about three extra months of Summer give or take a few weeks. For an autumn/winter girl like me it's a nightmare. The cute Summer/Spring dresses are my saving grace though. Oh and AC. You can count on me being in air conditioned places all Summer. This all brings me to today's ootd, for today's ootd post, we tried our hardest to pretend we were having  the most splendid time instead of clinging on to life in the sweltering heat ( I might be a little over dramatic). Well you know what they say no pain, no gain.

So I felt like being girly today and decided to wear a dress. And not just any dress. It's pink, striped, floral, and lacy. It's definitely my favorite dress of the moment just because it's so feminine and pretty!  Oh, and just in case you haven't noticed yet, I'm all about comfortable shoes ( you'll rarely see me in any kind of heels!) So I paired the dress with a pair of taupe and pink colored oxfords. My sister followed my lead as usual (I hope she doesn't read this part) and went with a striped and floral outfit as well. A nice romper that I feel would be a perfect vacation getaway outfit to Hawaii or some other lovely place. She finished off her outfit with the most adorable little err... actually quite big octopus ring, further making it feel like a tropical vacay outfit! 

P.S. I think we're getting better at the whole model thing, just check out that fierce pose my sister's doing in the second photo!

Once upon a Time...

Hi everyone. Hope it's been a nice and relaxing Sunday for you all so far. Today I thought I'd share with you all the infamous OOTD post! I have to admit I was really considering talking myself out of this as I am pretty darn self conscious at this point in my life (something I am working on) and don't really enjoy taking photos of myself. Plus who knew pretending to be a model would be so hard? In the end though I decided it would be best if I push myself out of my comfort zone,and just do it. I mean after all this is a blog that largely focuses on fashion. What kind of lifestyle/fashion/beauty/anything blogger would I be if I never showed you some of my own personal outfits? Oh, and my sister Dora was also kind enough to join me! Okay, no more stalling. Enjoy!

For this OOTD post we couldn't have been more opposite. I definitely went for the spring casual look while me sister went for a more dressed up spring look (but it can be easily dressed down as well, if we changed the shoes!) My sister topped off her look with some adorable wedges that she bought at wet seal! I think they really tie the outfit together! I choose to wear some light pastels (shocking, I know!) as well as my most beloved pair of Toms. I believe they came out in last year's spring collection. Oh ,and if this whole blogging thing doesn't  end up working out  I think we totally got the modeling thing down, haha!
